Educational Mailing Lists
Sometimes Referred to as listservs

What is a mailing list?

A mailing list is a list of people's names and e-mail addresses that is used to send messages of a common interest or subject matter to many people at once.  They are typically used for groups with common curricula or interests.

How can I use a mailing list in my classroom for instructional purposes?

  • To contact "professionals" or "experts" in a field for research.
  • To collaborate with other people in your curricular area, or to gain information for your students in an area of research
